"Polyamory" from it core words in Latin, consists of "poly" meaning "many", and "amore", meaning "love". Nearly everyone is already familiar with loving many people when you consider parents, siblings, children, or other family members. The only element that is new for some people is the concept of loving more than one partner at a time. But that's all that polyamory really is.
